What is womanhood? The consciousness of your own body, assets, but also… imperfections. The ability of maneuvering them in a way everyone around you says: „she’s got THAT SOMETHING“. Something elusive, original. For Marilyn Monroe it was her sexy „sleepy“ look, for Jennifer Lawrence – her pert naturalness, for Cate Blanchett – elegance… And how about you? What makes you stand out? How do you accentuate it? Take a look at my 7 tips and apply them in your life! 🙂
I. RED LIPSTICK
It must be the most popular and timeless attribute of womanhood. Red lipstick was developer as early as in the Ancient time. Cleopatra started mixing powdered ants and carmine with bee wax. Luckily, today we do not have to go to the forest and look for ants, (well, I admit, it might be interesting 😉 ). Every cosmetic brand offers a few red shades. And well… We go to the shop, stand in front of the shelf, and what next? The wider the choice is, the more lost we are. Shiny or matt? Which shade should we choose? Let me help you 😉 Above all, let’s go back to basics – the seasonal color analysis. You don’t have to have a detailed one done, all you need to know is whether you’re a warm or a cool type. Warm types go well with orange, rusty shades. Cool ones with raspberry, watermelon, burgundy. When you know your coloristic type, take a look at your lips. The drier they are, the more moisturizing your lipstick should be. Leave matt ones for special occasions. If you want to make your lips optically bigger – use lip-gloss, if smaller – go for a matt lipstick. If you’re not sure about such a strong make-up, apply some black eyeliner – it’s also a super sexy feature, an alternative for those who prefer to charm with their eyes.
II. ACCENTUATED WAIST
We’re the only ones with a waistline. A man with an accentuated one would look rather funny, wouldn’t he? 😉 Well… another indisputable womanhood attribute that mother nature has given us. It’d be a sin not to use it 😉 Every body type should do it in a slightly different way (have you already found out what your body type is?). Mrs X and Mrs F have handbook curves, so all they need to do is wear a tight top (a blouse, or a sweater) and they can run through life 😉 Hs, Ys, and Os will look great in undone waisted jackets. If the bottom of your body is bigger (your thighs, hips) yet you have a beautiful and delicate top (shoulders and bust), your probably an A and you’ll look great in tight patterned sweaters and skirts that go wider at the bottom. A belt is a totally classic way to accentuate the waist. The darker it is the better, as as we all know, dark shades make everything look smaller..
III. MATCHING JEWELRY
Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself deeply in the eyes and think what you’re like. Not only: short or tall, chubby or skinny, blonde or brunette. Apart from this obviousness ask yourself what you like, what your character is, what makes you laugh, what makes you angry… Choose your accessories depending on the result. They’re supposed to accentuate our original individual features. I, for example, like colors, Golden Era of Hollywood elegance, my heritage is a bit exotic and am brave in my decisions. My jewelry is therefore big, colorful, shiny, with boho and ethno elements. If you’re a typically Slavic blonde of a calm character and slim figure, you should definitely invest in subtle chains and bracelets, pastel colors. If you’re a born sportswoman full of energy and vital forces, go for headbands, soft headscarves, sports watches. IV. PERFECT DETAILS
Even if you had the best clothes, the most beautiful jewelry and the most beautiful red lipstick, but your nails were bitten and legs hairy – you have no chance of winning this fight. You have to be totally perfect! You don’t have a boyfriend? It’s winter and you don’t show your legs? THAT’S NOT AN EXCUSE! Care for your body just for yourself, for your own wellbeing. I have my toenails done all year long, even though I wear regular boots in winter. I couldn’t look at my ugly feet, or hair at my legs, yuk! Nothing excuses us from having a nice breath, beautiful hair, and a smooth body 😉 But I’m totally honest. Treat it like a project – make a list of things that need to be done – Monday – epilation, Tuesday – manicure and pedicure, Wednesday – hair mask, Thursday – facemask, Friday – body scrub, and so on. In this case routine is our biggest ally. These treatments won’t take you long, and you’ll surely feel more… womanly 🙂
Beautiful shiny hair can be our best name card. Besides cutting your endings on a regular basis and washing your hair from time to time, we should definitely pay some more attention to how we treat it. Let’s start in a regular grocery shop. Instead of junk food and empty calories, get some nuts, spinach, some wild salmon. Remember – you are what you eat, always think twice before you eat something. Ask yourself: in what way will your body benefit from that? How will a diet affect it? Eating healthy is the first step to shiny hair and flawless skin. When you’re showering – don’t rub the shampoo as fast as you can. Take it slow – massage your skull to improve blood circulation. Make sure you keep the conditioner on your hair as long as the instruction tells you to do that. If you don’t have time and patience – get one that works in a minute. Never leave the house with a crappy hairstyle. If you haven’t had time to wash your hair, tie a high bun and decorate it with a pin – a floral one, or a headband. If you’re having a total bad hair day – go for a turban!
VI. BEAUTIFUL CLEAVAGE
Not everyone of us possesses a bust of Monica Belucci, but I assure you, everyone of us can present this body part in a way so that it leaves everyone breathless (especially the male part of the society). Above all, just as with hair, make sure you care for your bust on a regular basis. Exfoliate with your favorite peeling (rather a delicate one), moisturize (you can even apply the same cream as you apply on your face for the night). Make sure you find a proper bra. If your bust is bigger, wear V-necks, if it’s smaller – you can risk going for a cut as low as your navel (like THIS one), or… a cut on your back! 🙂 Remember one crucial rule: if you expose a lot at the top, the bottom should be modest, and the other way round. Beautiful legs and a mini skirt? OK, but resign from strapless tube blouses 😉
VII. HEAVENLY LEGS
Speaking of legs, they’re also our secret weapon. If your legs are long and beautiful – make use of it whenever you can 🙂 Wear miniskirts, shorts, colorful and patterned tights (check THIS article out). If you find the top of your body more attractive, consider a knee length pencil skirt and darker (burgundy, for example) stockings? Such an ensemble will not make you feel naked, and will certainly accentuate your womanhood at the same time. Regardless of whether you prefer mini or maxi skirts, you should have at least one pair of stilettos in your closet. They even the proportions of your body, give you self-confidence and can pimp almost every look. In order to keep your legs in a good shape, try to walk as much as you can, install an app to count the number of steps you’ve taken each day (Noom Walk, for example). It makes you want to act 😀 Regular massage with a brush can also do a lot. In the summer use self-tanning creams and lotions with shiny dust, and make sure you apply sunscreen before exposing your skin to sun.
